Faceless people & identity – taking on someone else’s identity
Faceless people: I’ve been preoccupied with the notion of identity, non identity and taking on/stealing someone else’s identity.
Identity can take on so many forms, a finger print, DNA, voice identity, iris identity, facial triangulation, internet and social footprints etc….
This can also be applied to brands.
A passport isn’t a form of identity it’s a permit to travel. It’s all in the news too, identity theft and fraud, people leaving the UK to go to war and then not being able to come back. Slavery even.
I’ve recently been looking at portraits that show people but no identity, they can show beauty, wit, humour, darkness, loneliness.
Authenticity is what makes something real and special.
Here are a few of my favourites..
